I have a 1996 Lincoln continental was working perfectly fine a month ago only problem was brakes were grinding and starting a few weeks ago there was smoke coming from under the hood. There are no leaks that any one can see and its not over heating but smells like something is burning. Brakes have been fixed but still smoking not sure what else to do.

MAYBE YOU HAVE A SMALL OIL LEAK AT A VALVE COVER AND IT IS RUNNING ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD(S), IT WILL EXHIBIT A UNIQUE SMELL. IF YOU DOUBT ME, REMOVE YOUR OIL DIPSTICK AND DRIBBLE A FEW DROPS OF OIL OFF OF IT, ONTO THE HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD, WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING, SEE IF IT IS THE SAME THING YOU ARE EXPERIENCING NOW.--THE MEDIC
