I just had the rack and pinion replaced.

I just had the rack and pinion replaced yesterday (very expensive repair!) And today (over the weekend) I see puddles of fluid accumulating under the engine. Could their be a problem with the steering pump/hose? Seems to me that this should have been addressed at the same time. I did not have any leaks in this area prior to the repair and replacement of fluid.

It sounds like they made a mistake. Take the vehicle back to them and have them fix the problem. It wasn't there before, so that tells me that it is one of the connections they worked on.
