1996 Honda Accord distributer replacement question

1996 Honda Accord mileage: 170,000. How often does a distributor usually last (need to be replaced)? I just had it replaced four years ago and now my car is dead. The mechanic says the distributor needs to be replaced. Does that sound right?

Normally distributors last the lifetime of the car. Unfortunately, Honda has had a problem with their distributors failing prematurely. Your mechanic is probably right here.
