1996 GMC Sierra rear end/ front end

Just bought truck to realize that front end has six lugs, and rear end has eight (cant carry a spair). Is this standard? If not, whats best way to correct. Thanks for help

No it isn't standard is this a 1500 or 2500? Sounds like they put a 3/4 ton axle in back. It better be the same axle ratio as front otherwise it wil bang every time it comes out of 4 wd.
