The shift lever detent button sticks in the morning. After pressing on the brakes and forcing the detent it is easier as I drive and is ok until the next morning. I sprayed WD-40 in between the side of the detent and the shift handle and it did not help.

Make sure everything is tightened properly. Pull the console and make sure everything engages properly.

Took out the console and found a dime hindering the shift lever. However, now the voltmeter does not work (it was working before); any ideas; was it related to my effort on the detent button? I checked the fuse and it is fine.

Thanks,
Dennis

You may have knocked the wire loose.
