Have 96 ford taurus 3.0 just replaced lower radiator hose, sure where to put coolent. Radiator is hidden under a metal sheild

If there is no radiator cap, the only place you can place it is in the overflow. However, if the system is totally empty, I like removing the upper radiator hose and filling as much into the engine and radiator as I can through the hose before starting the vehicle.
