I have a 1996 4.0 2wd auto ranger. The truck will not take a charge for anything. I've replaced battery, neg cables to starter and frame. Starter solenoid, and altinator. I'm at a lose. I tested altinator and am only getting 11.8 vdc. I know it should be between 13 to 14vdc. Battery light is on in cab and all fuses are intact. Not sure where else to turn. Any ideas?

What condition is your drive belt in? Also, there are more cables for your charging system than the ones you named. There'll be a small positive cable to the alternator as well as a large positive cable. Use a volt meter to measure resistance/continuity for the entire length of these cables. If one has a break in it, you've found the problem
