The driver side driveaxle snapped in my 1996 Dodge Caravan. While attempting to pull the old one out the inner boot ripped spilling everything but leaving the housing in the transaxle case. Everyone has said to pop it out using a prybar. But the problem is that the housing isnt flush with the outside of the transaxle case that it is plugged into. It plugs into it about an inch or so in a well in the case. I can't fit a prybar behind the housing because it is set back in there.

There is usually at least one spot that you can slip a large prybar under. There may be some attachments to attach a slide hammer to it but I wouldn't bank on it. The prybar is what you'll likely have to go with.
