Transmission problem

Hi, my chrysler town and country is stuck in what I think is 3rd gear. A friend said his mechanic a capful of brake fluid in the tranny may fix it. Does this sound right, if not, what else can I do?

Most likely trans in second called "Failsafe Mode" trans computer has detected a fault so need to have trans scanned to find problem. And no brake fluid is not going to fix.
