There may be a good chance that his diagnosis was wrong. The codes don't tell you what the failure is, only what the situation it observed was. The tech still needs to determine the cause. Have the code cleared with a scan tool to make sure it is active but if it comes back on, you're back to square one and will have to have it looked at again.
