I was installing a new ignition lock cylinder on my friends 95 jimmy, using the instructions from a haynes repair manual, and I got the old one out successfully but when I put the new one in the key wouldnt turn. Now I cannot remove the new lock cylinder as it needs to be turned to the run position to unlock and it wont turn at all! Help please!

Yep this can be tricky, the timing of the cylinder must match the timing of the switch, you could have the cylinder 180 degrees off also.

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.
