We have a 95 ford explorer and today we drove it and it was fine until we got to our driveway and went to back up and it wouldn't, it seems like it wants to but doesn't engage it seems like it is turning a 1/4 of a turn then it binds up and won't go.

Sounds like your transmission is going out. Check your fluid first.

My friend Matt had that problem in his truck. He had it looked at and his transmission was on its way out. They told him to change the fluid, he did, and still wouldn't. They told him his only other option was to rebuild it.
