I am replacing the ball joints on my truck and my lower ball joint will not come out. The whole rubber boot is off. So I cant pound it out. That middle part were the nut goes on just moves around. It is rusted badly also. How can I get this out?I do have air tools and I thought about an air hammer. But would like some advice first. Thanks. Here are some pictures.

You can use an air but I would recommend a ball joint tool. They can usually be rented or borrowed from places like Autozone for little to nothing.

I tried renting one. They didn't have the adapter to go over the bottom of the ball joint that I needed and no one else rents them in the area I live in. Is there any other way of doing this without using the press? That stud moves all around.I tried spraying some PB blaster on it and pounding it out. If I used my air hammer, what would be the best way?

My air hammer tool kit has an adapter that goes over the balljoint stud. Use a flat punch if you don't have the cup adapter.
