At what time do you experience smoking? If it is at starting up or moving from standing, your valve seals are bad. Your PVC valve can also give this syntom. When your valve seals are bad it causes oil to leak pass and settle on your valves, when you start the engine the oil burns off causing white smoke.

If the smoke is coming from the engine area, check for coolant leaks that would cause steam. Also, check for any electrical issues. Usually and electrical issue will have a specific smell.

If the smoke is from the exhaust, white smoke usually indicates coolant is getting into the combustion chamber. Thus, a bad head gasket is usually the cause.
