1994 saturn sl2 turn car key car wont start . engine does not turn over ,battery tested low so had it charged charged tested good.put back in car same thing wont turn over. checked fuses in cabin and under hood all good .battery cables at battery seem clean. whats the easiest way to check starter could i tap with hammer on car and see if that works.

Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for voltage to the smaller wire on the starter. You should have 12v. If you do, chances are the starter is bad.
