Enter your question I have a 1994 saturn , having issues with cooling fan not coming on. The manual says to check the temp sending unit. It also mentions " pigtails " what are they referring to?

Alright then I would replace the coolant temp sensor the bottom one with two wire's going to it. It has a yellow wire and a black wire going to it. It's screwed into the head right below where the upper radiator hose goes onto the head. Also inspect the connector going to it if it's corroded then you have to replace the connector too. It's real common for them to go bad. Let me know how it goes.

After you replace the sensor let it warm up and watch the temp gauge the fan should come on at about 3/4 on the gauge. Also inspect the connector going to it make sure it's not corroded. Let me know what you find.
