94 voyager alternator replacement. Replacement (from wrecking yard) has the wrong serp belt pulley. How can I switch pulleys with the old? I would take it back for the right one but the replacement is only worth the core value as soon as it left the yard.

I would try a auto part's store and see you can talk them into swapping the pulley. Otherwise you will need a impact gun to get the nut off and usually a puller to remove the pulley.

How about a totally different plan of attack if changing the pulley doesn't work. Measure the continuity between the two small terminals. If they are open, the brushes are worn. If you have the little silver Nippendenso alternators, the brush assembly is rather easy to switch from the new unit to the old one. You can even replace the brush assembly without removing the alternator from the engine. Pull it out of the new alternator first so you can see what is involved. OR, ... If you have the old one off the engine already, pull that one's brush assembly out to inspect it. This photo shows the new brush assembly on the bottom and the worn brushes on top still bolted to the terminal block which doesn't have to be removed.
