1994 Mazda Protege rocker arm noise

1994 Mazda Protege mileage: 97,000. I have what seems to be rocker arm noise. Can I adjust them like a hydraulic Chevy?

Check the valve train for wear. If it looks okay, you may have to replace the hydraulic lifters, as they are not adjustable like a Chevrolet.

VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
NOTE:Valve clearance is not adjustable. Some Hydraulic Lash Adjuster (HLA) noise may occur during engine start-up. Noise should disappear after engine reaches normal operating temperature. If noise persists, change engine oil. If oil change does not reduce noise, check with manufacturer for modified HLA.
