Hello

I am writing in respect of my friend's Honda Accord 94 model, it has an automatic transmission. When he start the engine and try to put the gear on drive or reverse it automatically goes off. He has contacted local mechanics here and all they are offering him is a try and error solution. One of them told him that my gear box brain box is bad that is why it goes off when he change the gear to drive/ reverse. Another suggested that the problem is from the Vacuum? He is tired of these mechanics doing a try and error diagnosis and want a lasting solution to this problem. I recommended you and said you will be able to provide him with the lasting solution. Kindly advise on the possible cause of the problem and tell me where to ask them to check. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,
David

Unfortunately what the mechanics told you iswhat you should do. This has a trans contorl module that may be screwing up. Make sure your grounds are clean form battery to body, engine to battery, etc. Check all your vacuum lines including any going to the trans. If they are soft or spongy then replace them as they may be sucking together and not letting vacuum go through. This cold also be an engine problem. If it won't move then have it taken to a mechanic who can actually see the problem an dput a scanner on the car for codes or engien problelms.
