I need you to check something for me. Run the car till it shuts off. Then, check to see if there is spark to the plugs and if the fuel pressure is within the manufacturer's specs.

Wait. Try this first.

Under the hood in the relay box you will find a relay called the EEC (electronic engine control). Switch it with a known good relay with the same part number and see if the engine still dies. If it does, then check for spark and fuel. One will most likely be missing.

Let me know what you find.

My mustang has four relays they are squared and black under the box but there is one missing on the upper left hand corner so there's 3 out of 4

Is one of them the EEC? The purpose of each relay should be listed on the inside of the cover.

It just says relay 1, 2, 3 and 4 and I think I know what it is it's the fuel pump because when it turns off I checked if gas comes out of the motor and no sign of gas and do you know if the fuel pump is metal or plastic because I called and auto parts and they said I have to check if it's metal or plastic

Metal or plastic? The pump is in the fuel tank. I need to know which engine you have to check if I can determine what it is made from. Most are a combination of metal and plastic.

Do me a favor. Before we look at the fuel pump, start the engine and wait till it stalls and won't restart. At that point, see if the engine will start for a couple seconds using starting fluid. If it does, then the problem is fuel related.

Let me know what you find.

Also, let me know the engine size so I can check out the fuel pumps.
