My Van Starts shaking at a low rate of speed. It stops as so as I speed up. Please e-mail me what might be the cause. Also the steering wheel shakes as well. I think it might be the balance or allignment but I am not sure.

Thanks I really appreciate it.

Respectfully, David Kramer

AS I WAS READING, I TUNED IN ON "U JOINTS"

...........WHEN YOU MENTIONED THE STEERING THIS CAME TO MIND......SEE MY ANSWER IN THIS LINK

http://www.2carpros.com/questions/1992-chrysler-new-yorker-does-front-drivers-side-tire-make-thumping-noise-drive

I SOMETIMES SLING IN THOSE "WILD" WORDS TO HELP ME FIND AN OLD POST

DOWN BELOW YOU WILL FIND "SUB MENU".......THEN "QUESTION SEARCH"......I STUCK IN "CJ MEDEVAC GOOSE EGG" TO FIND THIS ONE.......THERE ARE ELEVEN MORE THAT MAY ADD OTHER POSSIBLE FACTORS IN DEPENDING ON WHAT THE "ASKERS" SYMPTOMS WERE FOR THEIR SPECIFIC ISSUE.........THAT I WAS INVOLVED IN ANSWERING

ALONG WITH THAT, THERE ARE MANY THOUSANDS OF CAR QUESTIONS THAT CAN BE LOOKED AT USING SEARCH WORDS.......(NOT USING ME, CJ MEDEVAC, IN THE SEARCH)

THERE ARE ALSO HELPFUL VIDEOS AND SUCH, IF YOU WILL EXPLORE AROUND IN HERE AT 2CARPROS

RETURN BACK HERE (TO YOUR POST) AND KEEP US INFORMED ON YOUR SITUATION.....THERE'S A BUNCH OF US ANSWERING, OTHERS MAY "PIPE IN" WITH OTHER INFORMATION

YOUR TURN

As the steering wheel shakes, that leads me to believe your issue lies in the front end. I believe your van came with a steering stabilizer, and they are known to fail. That may be the cause of this shake. An out of balance tire wont shake until a higher rate of speed, however an out of round tire will certainly shake. Easy to check. Jack tires off ground and spin. Look for any out of roundness. Keep us updated.
