My 94 chevy g20 van keeps slipping ing 3rd gear after its gets out of that gear its fine I have to get pressing on the to push the speed up which makes me burn alot of gas all the time. It doesnt cut off it just takes along time to get the speed up I but alot of time any money in my baby if I can fix or get the part that would be helpful.

Check the level and condition of the transmission fluid. It should be in the Full Hot range when the engine and trans are at operating temp on level ground. Also look at the color of the fluid. You want a nice red color, not brown or black. Smell it. It shouldn't smell burned. Next step is to rent or borrow and transmission pressure tester and see how much pressure the pump is generating.
