My 1993 firebird wont accel over 35 to 40 mph what could it be because of.I bought it off a friend they last said it would just boggg down at like 40 after it has ben warmed up. A mechanic said that it was the caltilac converter. It is supposly plugged. Is that even close?
Lack of acceleration, chugging, hesitating********, bogging, misfiring etc. Could be caused by one of the following below: Oxygen sensor.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.
Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing.
