Have very little power at take off. Bucks and jumps and backfires in engine compartment sumwhere. Once on open road runs fine. Have changed plugs, wires, done induction cleaning, ran 44K through system. Changed mass airflow sensor, also have a strong gas smell when backfires. Stalls at traffic lights. HELP !

Compression was fine. Fuel pump pressure good to. She runs great once I get to highway speed. Have had it to 90 mph and runs great. Just the stand still thing. Hot or cold it does it. Been told could be converter but no smell of rotten eggs, just gas smell like it is dumping to much gas

I have replaced tons of cats plugged and just not working correctly and very few of them smelled like rotten eggs. Why dont you have a back pressure test done on the exhaust to rule out a plugged cat.
