Tracer with Vibration & Tranny Trouble

I have a 1993 Mercury Tracer with the 1.9 engine. The car only has 68,000 miles on it but when you put it in gear, it has a vibration. It's my daughters and she told me it was also revving pretty high going 50 or so. I drove it down the road about a mile and I only felt it shift from 1st to 2nd. Also, I can shift from Overdrive to Drive and it doesn't change gears. What's up. I am not a mechanic! Please help. Thanks, Conscerned Dad.

You need to have the computer scanned to determine if it is a sensor, control module. Also, make sure the trans fluid is full and cleam.

I am having a similar problem with my 1998 Mercury Tracer.I was told by Advanced Auto it was my transmission control module. Where is that located and is it difficult to change?
