Hi Have any of the mechanics on here an idea about an imported 20 valve corolla? Im having serious trouble with it and have taken it to the toyota dealer. The car has been seen by many mechanics at this stage but the car will barely start and when it does it may rev perfectly but all of a sudden all of the clocks will die and the car will loose all power. The throttle position sensor has been changed just lately and the diagnostics isnt showing anything. The car was perfect up until a few weeks ago. Any ideas? I feel it is electrical and the signal going to the ecu is incorrect or that way. The temp gauge switch seems to affect it some how because if it is taken out the car runs some bit compared to it with this in? Any help?

Check your fuel pressure firstit shold be 38-44 psi, that wont' give a code and may be source ofyour problem.(1) Check fuel pressure with jumper wire installed between engine check connector terminals +B and FP,  ignition on and engine off.

The fuel pump has been checked to see if its giving enough pressure and that was given the ok by a mechanic. The distributer has been checked to be ok along with the exhaust incase of blockages or too little back pressure, There are no vacuum leaks or wires cut. Its as if the car doesnt know what to do once it is started and can run but will idle very low. So low it will cut itself? If I get it driving the car will drive until slowing down or a junction, Once I slow down the car cuts itself and is slow to start again? Sorry now I am just up to my eyes trying to find an answer. Il leave a picture of the engine bay and you can locate anything that may be of help

Try cleaning the throttle plateon both sides and the idle air control valve/hole with chokecleaner. It get sgumed up for oil going into the engine. The car will start hard after this.I'm sendign two pics one is in junction block 2 and I don't knwo where the other relay is located but I suspect underhood. These all have to do with running the engine and fp. Also in junction block 2 ther ei s afusible link, they can go badsometimes and causes the problem. A test light should be able to diagnose if it's in good condition ornot. The links sometimes break a few of the wires but not all and cause a problem similar to what you are experiencing. Other than these suggestions I wold have no idea unless I could physically see it.
