4 the past 2 weeks the car has run fine then check engine has come on and it would not idle I changed the spark plugs set them 2 right gap, ht leads, rota arm, distributer cap. Now it wont start and smells of petrol its automatic

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.
