I was told that the 92 Ranger transmissions were the same from 85 to 94. Is there so much difference between the 92 and a 95 that makes it impossible to use.

It may be the computer hookup may be different and it may have electronic vs hydraulic valves.

The T5 covers a lot of years but the gear ratios are different. You need to match the numbers.
You cannot use a 2 wheel drive in a 4 wheel drive as the cases are different.

Mine is a 2 wheel drive as well as the 95 five speed. So I just need to check the gear ratio?

There is a number on the trans and you should try to match them.
