I have a 92 Ford Festiva and I blew the main fusible link - the red center one on the unit behind the battery on the driver's side. (I did something dumb). #1) Do I need to remove the main fuse block to replace it, #2) the part that came up on Advance Auto parts is a 14 gauge wire, but it seems bigger than the one I am replacing.

It is _definitely_ blown, glowed, caught fire, and now is in 2 pieces.

K. Got it. The connectors are just spade connectors. These were corroded on more than I expected. The block is universal, I replaced it with a fusible link female FLF that I picked up for 3 bucks at Autozone. Car works fine now.
