Why do I get trouble code 15? What can I test?

code 15 No vehicle speed sensor signal

Also from time to time my abs light will stay on. When this happens my radio doesn't work. When I turn the truck off and on again the light goes out and my radio works. I was told it was my abs sensor on my rear axle. I was wondering is there anything I can check/test before I replace the sensor.
