Saturn9 I would like to know what would cause no drive and overdrive but all other gears work. Is there a solenoid not working or something else on the transmission I could replace to get drive working again. Is there a linkage that is out of adjustment or some other easier fix than replacing the trans

This could be a lot of things, a solenoid for 3/4 shift, a valve body problem etc. But definitely inside trans. Have a trans guy look at it or I fyou must, replace the trans.

That is a 700R4 in your car and itdoesn't have electronic shift so it probably is a clutch or seal something like that. If the fluid is brown or black it's no good anyhow.
