1991 Toyota Camry Rapid Deceleration while Coasting

This morning, to get out of an extremely snowy parking spot, I had to slam on the gas to accelerate fast enough to get out of the parking spot. After I got myself out of the spot and started driving, I noticed that although my car was accelerating fine, the second I would remove my foot from the gas pedal, it would decelerate extremely fast instead of coasting like normal. It was impossible to keep a steady speed without keeping my foot pretty far down on the gas pedal; as if I was constantly accelerating.

I've never experienced this problem before and I was just wondering what you think it may be.

It sounds like there is a brake sticking. Have you checked that? Is the parking brake releasing?

I'm positive the parking break wasn't on. But I just got new brakes a little while ago. Would that still happen? Also, how does one check if the break is sticking?

Calipers or a brake hose can go bad at any time. What needs to be done is the vehicle needs safely lifted and check if you can turn each wheel. If they turn, have someone hit the brakes to stop the tire from spinning and then release the brakes to see if the wheel releases right away.
