my 91 buick regal has a clickins sound at idle which goes away when i'm actually driving normal. i took off the serp belt to troubleshoot the noise, because i could move each piece along the belt and it turns out to be the balancer. Now, i cannot get the motor to stop turning to take off the balancer bolt. How do i stop or Lock the motor to get the balancer off to replace it?

An impact wrench may work. Can you get a pipe wrench on the crank, maybe behind the pulley, use a cheater, so it is braced against the floor in the correct direction. The crank can't move then.
