Toyota Corolla Axle Installation

I am having trouble installing the passenger side cv axle in my 1990 toyota corolla It wont go in the transmission no matter what I give it it wont go in aren't these supposed to just pop and lock right in?

Yes it should did you compare spline count and axle shaft size with old CV? Is there a round "C" clip on tip of axle shaft?

Yeah the c clip is fine. I am starting to suspect I have the wrong axle because it stops at the rounded part before the spline part.

Happens alot in rebuilt axles and aftermarket

Yeah I am going to try to find a new one instead of reman the reman didnt look exactly like the old one anyway. Thanks for your advice I greatly appreciate it as I am an old fashioned DIY when it comes to auto repair. Can't stand mechanic labor robbery.
