The catalytic converters (2) have been removed, emptied, and welded back in on my 1990 firebird/gta trans am with the TPI / 350. Ever since, the car runs bogged down and idles hard and high. I think its due to the change in back pressure.
First, should I put new converters on? Is the computer programmed to run specifically with both converters?
Second, if I keep them like they are, what needs to be done to fix? Can I remove EGR or will that help or hinder?
I think it is best to have the exhaust system with all its parts. But I am one of those "NO n-rigging" folks!
