Support the front end by the frame, not the lower control arm. Remove the wheel, axle nut, and ball joint pinch bolt. Use a very long bar to pry the control arm down. Pull the spindle / rotor / strut out while holding the shaft in the transmission. Pull the shaft out of the transmission. Some fluid will likely leak out.
