Going dead after stopping

As I stop at a red lite my car keep going dead,
1990 cadillac v8 d'vill, what I need to check?

Check for vacuum leaks, the idle air control valve (IAC), and make sure there are no disconnected wires under the hood. If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned. Most parts stores will do it for free.
