I had a leaking head gasket on my 1989 mitsubishi mighty max with a 2.0. I changed it and have driven it about a 1000 miles and i have noticed that it is leaking oil around the head gasket. Will retorqueing solve the leak or do i need to do something else.

You can try retorquing but you need to confirm if the leak is from the head gasket.

Any leakages from the valve cover gasket and the distributor can drip done and look like the head gasket is leaking.
If it is from the timing belt side, check the camshaft oil seal.

If retorquing fails, you would have to replace the gasket again. This model seems to have the tendency to leak from there and I would suggest using gasket sealant around the oil pressure hole of the gasket before installation.
