oil filter problem

while driving oil started shooting out were the oil filter meets the housing. and i notice it was loose. i bought a new filter and made sure the old gasket was not there and that the threads were fine. i properly intalled the filter and lubed the new rubber gasket. upon start up oil started shooting out were the filter meets the housing and once again the filter had loosened. whats the problem\r\n?

Sounds like you might have a plugged pressure relief valve in the oil pump. Excessive pressure could rupture the filter but more commonly it will just balloon it up and deform it.

You might want to take a manual oil pressure reading to see if the pressure is shooting way too high.

Also check the oil filter base to see if that uses a gasket.
