Replaced iat as had code 54. Now still have code 54 plus code 98. Dose it matter if the iat I took out was metal and the one I put back was plastic? Have put in 2 sets of spark plugs because of the code 54.

First thing to check for code 54 is coolant level and sensor, holes in air duct between air cleaner an dthrottle plate and anyhoses/grommets with holes in them as well as full oil level. Make sure the iat is the correct one and being plastic shold n't matter just holes in duct owrk cause it can't work right. It might be a mpa sensor problem as well with ahole in vacuum line leading to it. And btw what engis is this?
