1989 Dodge RAM B250, 318ci, 5.9L V8 idles fine in park, will not idle when put in gear. You have to power brake it to keep it running. ( I had to change one of the fuel injectors on the throttle body and after I did so this started happening.)

Backtrack your work-you could have disconnected something electrical-if all okay -check the idle speed control actuator

I have also replaced the idle speed control. Also checked all vac lines and electrical. Could this Maybe be a weak fuel pump? As said, the vehicle runs good other than idling in gear.

Thought I might give you an update. The van is running fine now. I went out today and figured it out. It had to do with the transmission! The neutral safety switch is bad. I unhooked it and jumped the wires and presto, the van runs just fine. I will get a new switch soon. (Only $12.00). Thank you all for the ideas and your help. Its a joy to drive now.
