89 S-10 engine change

I have a 1989 S-10 xtend cab. It currently has the 4.3, and 700r4 trans. My question is, would a 2.5 bolt in with this trans, and could I use the current wiring harness. The truck also has the digital dash, and is a tahoe model. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The wiring harness needs changed, the computer needs changed, just about everything needs changed. I believe the trans will bolt up, but it's not worth the time, money, and effort to make this happen. You are further ahead getting a direct fit engine.
