When I go to start my car in the morning I can hear the starter going (clicking or whining) but not catching till several tries to get it to engage. (Mainly when temp is cold and only happens with 1st start of the day)I just installed new battery. I was wondering what is causing this?

Get the starter o/hauled, the solenoid contact are not passing enough current, the click is the solenoid engaging, but ther eis not enough current to turn the starter to engage, as the contact heat up they tend to work a bit better.
