My friend's son drives a 95 nissan truck to high school. He says that it runs fine with a little pedal but runs really rough at idle. I don't know much about this. He did ask if a disconnected vacuum line could cause it. I am gonna look at it tomorrow. Any suggestions?

Yes, it sounds definitely like a vacuum leak. Use a can of Berriman's Carb and Choke cleaner. Spray it over the vacuum lines and fittings to locate the leak. The idle will change when the leaking part is sprayed.
