Celica is an automatic and has had tune-up consisting of spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap/rotor, air filter, PVC valve, oil& filter change. It has never been neglected.
Runs perfect except for one flaw- After driving it if it is put into park and then immediately turned off without allowing it to sit and idle for about 2 minutes it will run like crap when it is started back up. Doesn't matter how long it sits before the restart if it wasn't put into park and idled, it will have a miss so bad you would think it fouled a plug or something. Then you have to feed the gas gently to keep it running for about 2 min. Before shutting it off. Wait a min or so and restart it so that it will purr like a kitten again. This procedure has been going on for over a year and is a tried and true scenario that's consistant what ever the weather may be. Any ideas where to even begin on figuring it out would be appreciated.

Start with a compression test. When cold, and miss occurs, is there any smoke emitted from the rear?
