77 Dodge Van ignition

Where does the wire going to the positive side of the ignition coil come from and whats the source of the negative wire going to the negative side of the ignition coil? If checked with a electrical current tester should the negative side of the coil have power or show charged current.

Sorry, you're terminology is a little confusing. Do you have the five-pin ignition module? Also, do you have the dual ballast resistor on the firewall? It should have four terminals with typically dark blue wires, ... Well, at least one dark blue wire connected to both terminals on one end.
