Want to put 400 Pontiac motor and transmission in a 1986 chevy short bed pick up, will it work?

Don't know why you wold want to do that as the 350 willprobably getmore power but ya it will work just have to replac motor mounts on frame. And other mods to m ake it work. Why not just put a big block chevy in it. Cheaper and more reliable.

Thanks for the response, started rebuilding the original 350 but the block was cracked and my uncle has the Pontiac said I could have it if I could use it. Gotta tight budget trying to keep costs down.

With the modifications you'll have to make it 'snot gonna be cheap you are bette off just to get a 350 from ajunkyard lot cheaper
