Will not start

Cranks but will not start turn distributor clockwise it backfires but wont start. Also, what is the firing order?

If you turn the distributor and it backfires, it is a timing issue. Was the distributor been removed?

As far as the firing order, it is as follows:

Firing Order: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6

If you look at the attached picture, it identifies cylinder location and where the distributor number 1 plug wire is located.

Let me know if this helps and exactly what is happening.
