Just bought this truck. The gauges, wipers, brake lights, blinkers did not work, but it would start and run. But now it wont do that. I did a spark test (no spark) and I tested the fuel pump and it is doing nothing. I have tested all the fuses and relays and they are good. I bought a new pcm and that didn't solve the problem. I'm pretty sure the original problem is a BCM but not sure why it isn't getting any spark and the fuel pump isnt coming on. Any ideas?

Hi,

If you lost spark and fuel, I need you to check the automatic shutdown relay (ASD). It is in the power distribution box under the hood. See pic 1.

Remove the relay and inspect where it makes connection in the box. Make sure there is no corrosion or pushed in pins. If there is another relay in the box with the same part number, switch them to see if it makes a difference. If there isn't, here is a link that explains how to test a relay:

As far as the other concerns, I have to tell you the vehicle has what is called a totally integrated power module (TIPM). They are known to have issues with the connectors because there are so many small pins in each. They corrode and break causing power issues. However, I will need you to start a new thread for those questions. We try to keep the threads specific to one issue. Hope you understand
.
Do this and let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless.

Joe

I really appreciate you taking your time to answer. Turns out a connector on the bottom side of the relay panel had come loose. Should have checked that before I bought a new PCM.

I am also having problems with no wipers, blinkers, brake lights, instrument cluster, interior lights, and radio. I`m assuming this issue also is with the fuse panel or TIPM. Before I go spend money on a new one I intend on removing the old one and inspecting it and hopefully salvaging it. Do you have any suggestions on the best way to do this and any products that could be helpful?

Hi,

I'm glad to hear you got it fixed. Honestly, it's not hard to miss a loose connector, so don't be too upset with yourself.

As far as your new questions, I need you to copy and paste your last post to a new thread. We are trying to keep the threads specific to one topic. That way, it is more helpful to others. I hope you understand.

I will watch for your new post. Here is the link to get to it:

Take care and feel free to come back anytime.
