I am having a permanent BRAKE Sign on the Dash even after releasing the parking break. I would like to check the switch of e brake. Can you please tell the location of the switch and how to reach the switch? Thank you

The abs is connected to that brake light as well and will go on when there is a problem but the switch is on the parking brake lever bracket we don't have apic of it. You should see it if you look where the parking brake lever rests against the bracket, normally two wires. It is hidden behind the foot pedal.

I have a '98 Avalon. The parking brake light which usually illuminates when the parking brake is applied, does not come on. I know that this light is a dual function light which also can indicate a brake issue. It operates fine and does come on when the key is turned to start, and then goes out.
It just doesn't come on when the parking brake is applied like it used to.
I looked under the dash around and near the pedal assembly, which is where I thought the switch should be, but I can't find it! Please help.
Dave

Check at the parking brake lever

INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH OPERATION

Check that there is continuity between the terminal and switch body with the switch ON (switch pin released).
Check that there is no continuity between the terminal and switch body with the switch OFF (switch pin pushed in). If operation is not as specified, replace the switch or inspect ground point.
